July NewsletterWritten by Sandra BrookJuly 24th We went to Botánico Restaurant at Hotel La Laguna, Avda. Antonio Quesada 53, 03170 Ciudad Quesada, Alicante The Botanical garden room of the Hotel La Laguna in Rojales had been organized for our July event, but because of the exstream heat this had to be changed to the events room, where the Air condiioners were working better to cool the room down. On arrival a welcome drink and tapas were served under the covered patio that over looks the beautiful swimming pool, and for confort a misty spray of water intermitently sprayed from the ceiling. This along with fans ensured that everyone was able to mix for our meet and greet in a pleasant enviroment. At 2.00 pm it was time to entre the events room which had been set up for 53 people for a 4 course lunch, and as normal the Banter and laughter was continued throughout the meal. Our July’s event had been held later in the month, as the decision had been made to miss out August this year, but a special event had been organized earlier in the month of September. This is a summer garden party on the thursday 18th at the fantastic Hotel La Plantation in Finestrat, where lunch will be served to background music untill 5.00 pm, then this will changed to our evening live entertainment with the Costa Blues Brothers, an event not to be missed in the amazing lush and tropical gardens. August - No Events Scheduled September 18th We are proud to say that we have the Costa Blues Brothers for our Summer party in La Plantation Restaurant, Finestrat, Alicante. Dinner and show from 2.00 till 8.00pm. Details to follow. October 7th to 11th Club tour to Granada. The tour will include a city train tour on the 8th . An opportunity for those that wish to visit the Alhambra Palace on the 9th or the chance to drive up into the Sierra Nevada. In addition we are hoping to arrange and Andalusian Dancing show for the Friday and a stop in Guadix on the Saturday on the return. November In November we will once again hold our AGM at Hotel La Laguna – more details to follow. December We will have a traditional Xmas lunch at Stan & Ollies restaurant as per last year. |
